Hey, Phillip. Are you doing alright today? I've been worried about you ever since yesterday, but I didn't want to try and find you in person on the ship.
[Phillip... doesn't totally remember what happened, if he's completely honest. But the fact that he doesn't gives him a guess.]
Yeah, I'm doing alright. Thanks for trying to help. [He doesn't blame him for not succeeding, Mia sure as hell failed a few times before she learned what worked to snap him out of it.]
[ Delivered to Phillip's door is a wrapped gift - the wrapping paper is light blue and covered with small black dogs that are barking, and the bow on top is large and festive, sparkling with glitter in the light.
Inside is a white scarf, long and comfortable and wide enough to burrow your face into. It's a little messy, but there are clear writing quills and ink and all sorts of eccentric touches and quotes written into the fabric. That isn't all, though - there's also something colored a fetching blue-grey with some glittering threads embroidered into wave-like designs, something that looks like... a dress? But - there's a clip attached, noting 'pull here' - and once it does, the 'skirt' of the dress detaches to show pants below, as if they'd always been there.
The card that hangs from the bow reads, Merry Solstice! I know... you might not be comfortable wearing something like this yet, and that's alright, but - I hope you know you can. I hope you will one day, with me. It's been my honor to act as your partner and to know you better. Let's go on another date sometime! It's in a messy script, but it's still clearly Aspen's.
There's also a pack of no-bake cookies - peanut butter balls rolled in white powdered sugar to make it look like snow, chocolate-hazelnut truffles, and dipped pretzels studded with peppermint candy. They're not the neatest... Aspen clearly had some trouble making them, but they're quite tasty. ]
[Phillip will find a neatly wrapped gift at his door signed 'from Sabo'. Inside there will be a watch! This watch actually comes with 3 different bands in assorted bright colors! Considering how Phillip seems to like brighter colors for his outfits, Sabo thought this watch would work well with some of them.
There is also a short note inside asking Phillip to send him a message when he can, because he wants to talk about something.]
[The label on the card mixed with the present kind of confuses Phillip a little at first- he's used to getting presents on New Years, but that's because it's also his birthday, so he's not quite sure if that's the intent here or not. He winds up barely looking at the present, though, his cheeks turning crimson at the note. It doesn't take him long for him to text Asra.
The first thing on the message is a picture of Millie in her new sweater because of course is.]
Thank you.
I wouldn't mind if you messaged me every day honestly.
( On Phillip's doorstep there is a carefully wrapped small package, a note saying it is for Phillip. Inside, there is a small charm shaped like a dog that is made out of a clear crystal, and some dog treats bought from one of the more popular pet stores in the city.
Alongside the charm is another note, written in Ja'far's easy hand. Inside of the note is also an invitation to Sinbad's welcoming party.)
With all of the gift giving, I wanted to join the spirit and give you something, Phillip.
While we keep meeting under strange circumstances, you have been kind to me in the times we have spent together. I wanted to say thank you, and to wish you a happy new year.
( Ja'far seems to be in a clothing store, taking a picture of himself in a mirror, but it's, uh. Not just a regular clothing store, is it. He's taken a picture of himself in some lingerie, looking curiously at himself. )
[ stephen, as a rule, doesn't really text phillip. the kid is busy and so is he, and anyway it's good not to fall in the habit of soliciting the attention of young people. (his drunk texts have historically done that for him, where phillip is concerned. stephen pointedly doesn't think about it.)
so the text will come as a surprise, with just the lone attachment: phillip in stephen's apartment, recognisable from the handwriting on the walls, the pressed herbs in rows by the windowsill, the magic esoterica; phillip at his small breakfast table with a folio of some kind open in his lap, a book, maybe a play for which he has to recite lines? even though there's a soft blur to the picture as if the hand that took it wasn't quite steady, the angle seems right, somehow, to highlight phillip's face in sunlit contemplation. there's a furrow in his brow, his hand under his chin to show off a slender wrist draped in bangles. by his wrist is tea that stephen refills without saying it or thinking it. a bite on his neck that stephen left and he must have elected to keep.
stephen has never asked to take a picture of him, ever, in their acquaintance, and stephen has never expressed a particular interest in photography. it's a nice picture, though. something about it feels soft. ]
[...Ok, this has to be a mistake. Phillip has had enough misfires and weird autosends of his own now to know that something is up with the phones, and even though he has no idea when Stephen took this picture, he is pretty damn sure he was never meant to see it. ...Mostly because he's done the same thing.
He's not sure what to do. Ignoring it seems like the wrong move, dishonest somehow. Asking if he meant to seems like a good way to get Stephen to not talk to him for days. So... there's one option that might not backfire on him too badly.
Instead of words, Stephen will get a picture sent back to him. It's one of himself during the many, many times Phillip has walked in on him sleeping, his hair gently mussed and the light from the crap blinds peaking through and lighting strips of his form. His face is... if not peaceful, at least less inherently cranky than it is on a normal basis. It was a good look on him, Phillip had thought when he'd taken the picture. In there is an admission, of sorts, and also by not saying anything? Maybe a quiet agreement to not really bring up what that admission is.]
[Phillip hasn't really... left his apartment since getting back, but he's getting to the point where he might want to see people and things other than Merlin and his dog again.]
About as well as can be expected, I guess. How are you? [please tell him your healing powers are back now.]
Excuse me, Phillip? Or Pip, if you'd prefer. This is Zexion. I wanted to apologize for how forward I was during our last meeting. I'm not sure what got into me. Or rather, I am sure - our drinks were most likely spiked with something, but that's no excuse.
[It's just a couple days after the graffiti outing when Pip gets a picture texted: Imoen's fingers holding up this collar for the device's camera. The only thing that's typed to accompany it...]
